Update Den Pine Floor Replacement:

Well it’s half way finished and The engineered Hickory floor is looking great! No surprises after removing the pine boards, other than the way they installed them, they used Plate Joiner Biscuits every 8 inches which I had not seen before on flooring. Normally I see tongue and grove boards, these were just 1×12 pine boards.

The sub floor has 3/4 in. Plywood and I added a new sheet of 3/8 in. plywood on top that size plywood along with the 3/8 in. new flooring came back to the same height I had.

I used 1,000 flooring staples already and have to order another box, These floors can be floated with a pad or glued or nailed, I already have a flooring nailer so I went that route.

I will take a break from the flooring to do some outside work before the weather gets too warm. By the way I did locate paperwork showing the den was added in 1988 along with new electrical wiring. Well that’s 200 years after the house was built.

I like seeing your progress on this wonderful house and cottage. I remember us looking for houses that would make a nice flip. When this home was assigned to me by the bank, I saw it could be just the project for you. It looks like this house has become a labor of love!

Charlie, I remember all the other homes we looked at and this one turned out to be the best one. I never would had thought I would ever purchase a house without ever going inside it. Though I did as much peaking thru the windows as I could. It has been a labor of love and someday I still want to retire.
