Well 2020 is finally coming to an end and so are my home improvements for 2020. The remaining wall cabinets have been removed and replaced, they were circa 1980’s and had been painted over a few times, missing knobs or handles.
They may not look too bad in the photo however they were bad. Both sides of the kitchen window had cabinets that were too wide for the wall, the window frame trim was cut to allow the oversized cabinets, this bothered me enough to make the size adjustment from 30″ wide to 24″ wide allowing room next to the window.
As you can see from the photo with the new wall cabinets I had enough room to mount a wine rack, I also used an corner cabinet vs the flat type they had, so with that all that’s left is the 2 base cabinets and new counter tops. Oh and the floor once the cabinets and countertops are finished.
My last post showed the dishwasher and the smaller wall cabinet allowing room at the window frame, whomever installed these cabinets hacked the trim boards to make them fit.
With COVID-19 the building supplies have been pricey as well as low stock, many of us have been doing home repairs and improvements I sure hope this gets behind us for 2021.
