Door removal
This demo is interesting as the guest house south side is pretty weathered, the guest house has no need for 3 doors as it only has 2 rooms. I decided to remove one of the doors in the bedroom and add a window instead.
The guest house had no windows facing the field which was disappointing. The bedroom also had an old Kenmore wall unit from the 80’s which no longer worked so I decided to remove it and the door adding the 32″x 46″ window.
Once the demo started and the rotted wood started coming off I found no insulation in the wall, not good for heating and cooling, since I have a new wall added below the window plus the wall AC is gone I added insulation to the bottom, once the bead board comes off on the inside I will insulate the rest of the wall.
Keep in mind the “now” guest house was the kitchen back in 1792 and was up near the main house, it was moved further back long ago.
