The Importance of Attic Exhaust Fans for Temperature Regulation and AC Efficiency

Attic exhaust fan needed. Well this summer the heat build up in the two attics will help getting out, with help from my son we installed two exhaust fans that are thermostatically controlled, these are set to come on when the attic temps reach 90 degrees.

Last summer the temps were so hot that the AC ducts were dripping water, the ductwork insulation was no match for temperatures above 115 degrees.

Having metal roofing concerned me as this would be my first experience however really turned out to be fairly easy, the roof cap was screwed down and once it was raised the fan was able to slide down from the top as seen in the photos.

The second story was done different as we used a side vent which I will post later.

2 Old Beech Trees Removed

Old Beech Trees Removed

Well removing trees that had been here for long time was unfortunately very much needed. One was dead and limbs kept falling off with winds as low as gusting to 35 mph, the other tree near the garage was rotting and had a 2 foot void inside, it was not going to make it!

It sure looks strange out front with them both removed, but it had to be to be done, James Trotman did a great job (Trotman Services) On the positive side no leaves will fall so clean-up will be better this fall.

Now that this was down before it had leaves all I have to do next is remove the stump, then the driveway will need to be redone.

I haven’t posted in awhile but I have been working, I replaced the circuit breaker box in the guest house and will post that later and added another mini split system out there as well.
